Authorities say Dakota Sizemore of Hanover Court in Spring Hill received minor abrasions on his left eye and left cheek when he was attacked by the German Shepherd and Great Dane mix about 4 p.m. Thursday.

The owner of the dog told authorities the small boy ran up to the dog, startling it and that was when Dakota was bitten. The boy's mother told authorities she would take him to the doctor.
The report was handed over to Animal Services, a sheriff's report said.
