Woman severely injured in attack by wolf dog
BURLINGTON, Iowa — An animal that police say
appears to be a wolf or wolf hybrid will likely
be destroyed after it attacked a woman, severely
injuring her face.
Brenda Galvan-Perez, 20, of Burlington, was
attacked by the animal on Tuesday at the home
she shares with the animal's owner. She was
taken to a hospital for treatment.
The animal's owner, Eric Hausknecht, 40, of
Burlington, was cited for having a vicious
animal and having no rabies tags.
Hausknecht told officers the dog is an Alaskan
Malamute, police said.
Police and animal shelter employees said it may
actually be a wolf or wolf hybrid.
