Breed Specific
Legislation Alerts...
We need EVERY responsible dog owner to write
letters to the City Council members and the Mayor opposing any Breed Specific
ordinances.
Even if this isn't your
state, you should write a letter of opposition. In a blink of an eye, it
could be your city and you will be asking everyone to help you battle the BSL.
If your chosen breed isn't mentioned, you should also write a letter of
opposition. It won't be long before your breed is listed! Once the
precedent is set for BSL in a community, all it will take is one dog of
your breed to bite a child and soon you will find your dog on the list.
So please take a moment to
write some letters, create a BSL template letter where you can quickly
change the city and state. Then it will only take a minute or two to send
your letter.
As I hear about BSL being discussed
it is added to our BSL locations
with a status of "being

12/08 - State of Florida
- SB372 (http://tinyurl.com/563n5l
) and SB922 has been introduced and if passed would allow
cities in the state to pass BSL.
Senate report - recommends amending law to allow BSL,
but not outright bans on breeds.
1/19 - State of Florida

1/25 - Washington DC
- Councilman Graham is once again asking for a ban.
The HS is against such a move and surprised by the
request as they just overhauled their dangerous dog
laws.
